A Time to Discover
From the Beginning
Columbus's first plans to change the world began in 1470 along the Portuguese Coast where French privateers attacked Christopher's merchant ship and he had to float his way to Lisbon. There he studied mathematics, astronomy, cartography and navigation. This was the start of Christopher Columbus's new journey. Christopher Columbus was a very interesting man who had many bad qualities. For example once he found the new world the queen appointed him as governor, him and his brothers ruled as if they were kings. Along with being selfish Columbus was also cheap. He said whoever spots land first gets a reward, the poor man never received it, Columbus kept it for himself. Christopher never really did make the best decisions, one Christmas eve he allowed an inexperience boy to steer the ship and later crashed. Merry Christmas everyone and a happy new year! http://www.history.com/topics/christopher-columbus
