Week #34 Update
Dear OLL Families,
I hope this message finds you and your families experiencing God's grace and blessings. As the principal of Our Lady of the Lake School, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the significance of our shared mission and the importance of nurturing Christian behaviors among our student body.
At Our Lady of the Lake School, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality Catholic education that not only focuses on academic excellence but also emphasizes the spiritual growth and character formation of our students. As parents, you play a crucial role in supporting this mission, and I would like to reiterate the purpose of sending your children to Our Lady of the Lake School.
Our school community exists not only to impart knowledge but also to guide and inspire our students to become good Catholic individuals. Here are a few essential aspects that define what it means to be a good Catholic student at our school:
Living the Gospel Values: Our primary objective is to help your children develop a deep understanding and love for the teachings of Jesus Christ. We encourage them to integrate these Gospel values into their daily lives, treating others with kindness, compassion, and respect.
Prayer and Sacraments: We strive to foster a vibrant spiritual life within our school community. Through regular participation in prayer services, Masses, and the reception of sacraments, we aim to deepen your child's relationship with God and provide them with a strong foundation in their Catholic faith.
Moral and Ethical Responsibility: At Our Lady of the Lake School, we emphasize the importance of moral and ethical development. We encourage students to make choices that align with Christian principles, promoting integrity, honesty, and fairness in all aspects of their lives.
Service to Others: One of the hallmarks of a good Catholic student is a commitment to serving others. We encourage students to actively engage in acts of service and outreach, helping those in need and contributing to the well-being of our local and global communities.
As a Catholic school, it is crucial that we create an environment where our students consistently demonstrate behaviors that reflect the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is my expectation, as the principal, that our students exhibit Christian-like behaviors, including kindness, respect, empathy, and responsibility. These behaviors not only shape their character but also contribute to a positive and supportive school community.
I kindly request your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. By fostering a nurturing and faith-filled environment in your families, you can help your children understand the significance of living out their faith through their actions and interactions with others.
I want to assure you that our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing guidance, support, and role modeling to help our students grow into exemplary Catholic individuals. We will continue to integrate the formation of faith and character development into our curriculum and school activities.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and spiritual formation of your children. Together, let us work hand in hand to create an environment where they can thrive academically, spiritually, and personally, becoming strong witnesses of Christ's love and compassion.
Have a beautifully blessed week,
LAKE MADNESS IS NEXT WEEK!

YMCA Summer Camp at OLL!
New Adventures:
- New Adventures offers children ages 3-6 a safe, fun, and creative camp experience. Children grow in self-reliance, confidence, and self-esteem while building lots of new skills. Children are grouped according to their age and move through the program center to different activities and adventures throughout the day. Whether it’s through singing, swimming, or art, our camp staff lead children in developing strong YMCA values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
YBA Youth Basketball All-Stars:
- The YMCA invented the game of basketball! The YMCA of Montclair invented Y.B.A. to nurture basketball enthusiasts. We provide all-day programming for campers to further develop skills, learn game strategies, and achieve goals on and off the court. Each day is spent improving fundamentals, performing interactive drills, building offensive and defensive skills, playing in-house tournaments, and getting in shape. Campers may register for as many weeks of the program as they like-however note-each week fills up quickly. This camp is also a great option for youth who wish to try out for our travel team in the Fall.
They will have a table at Lake Madness to answer any questions!
