The capital of Guyana is Georgetown. Some major cities are Linden, New Amsterdam, Anna Regina, and Bartica.
Guyana's history
Guyana was controlled by Britian for 200 years and gained independence on May 26 1966. It is still independent. It's official language is English. The flag is red, green, black, yellow and white and made up of triangles.
Geography
Guyana is in the northeast of South America. Three physical features are Mount Ayangana, Shell beach, and the Rupununi savannah.
Politics
Guyana's government is a representative democratic republic. The president is Donald Ramotar.
Guyana's economy
Guyana's currency is the Guyanese dollar. It's economic system is capitalism.
Tourism
Guyana is a great place for nature lovers and adventure seekers because of it's diverse wildlife and many places to visit. Some places you should visit are Kaietour falls where you can stand on the edge of the falls, shell beach were you can see sea turtles, and the Iwokrama rainforest were you can see many animals like the worlds largest fish.
