WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2-6, 2019
SCHOOL LEADERSHIP/NORTHWEST GOALS & CORE VALUES
A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Illustrious Leaders,
This week marks the second week of the six weeks. I can not believe how quickly the start of school has come.
Thank you for a great Northwest Cluster Principal/Assistant Principal and CIC PD focusing on Content Planning PLCs, PEI, and Extreme Coaching.
This week, we will continue the work on Alignment, Culture/Climate, Academic Climate and Culture, Thinking Maps as well as Implementation of the 7 Habits.
As we begin to take a 'deep dive' into the full implementation of our Leader in Me Habits as a cluster, remember that it is not about just posting the habits, but it is about embedding the habits in your daily language with students, staff, and the community. It is also about believing in the habits such that you live the habits.
This week, focus on HABIT #1-BE PROACTIVE. You're in Charge remember that you are a responsible person and take initiative. Choose your actions, attitudes, and moods. Do not blame others for your wrong actions. Do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.
You have the opportunity to BE PROACTIVE in your Leadership. Stephen Covey states that "Leadership is communicating people's worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired that they see it in themselves." Don't wait to tell your teachers how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to our scholars. When you see greatness, communicate it. By being proactive in your words and dedicated actions, others then see their worth and yours through your eyes. Imagine how many staff you can inspire to be the best!
Rest, rejuvenate so that you can come back stronger than ever on Tuesday ready for our scholars! They count on you to be 100% plus!
Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
Here is to another stellar week!
Let's make it another STELLAR week! Excellence and Equity for ALL Scholars! WE ARE IN IT TO WIN IT...GO FOR THE GOLD!!
Ms. Torres

THE CORE 4
Dallas ISD is 20,000 staff members strong, and each one is vital to the work being accomplished in the district. Through the district’s commitment to exemplary customer service, each member is focused on serving 157,000 students and their families by delivering professional, high-quality service in everything we do.
At the heart of great customer service for each district employee are the four tenets of customer service--the Core 4: focused, fast, flexible, and friendly. These principles, also, are key to forging a positive culture within the organization as they are applied, internally, colleague to colleague, as well as to students, families, taxpayers, and the entire community.
It is a strong commitment that goes beyond the conversation about what exemplary customer service looks like becoming the norm for the way we operate in the district every day.
