Updates and Reminders
Teachers, please don't forget to add your units to your assignment folder in Google Classroom. Remember...don't hit the "Turn In" button. I would like to see all of your first semester literacy and math (science for 5th-8th) units added by March 15th.
March is historically a rough month for school employees. This year there are no holidays, short weeks, or special events taking place during the month of March. IAR and LAS Links testing begins, and EOY Assessments will be here before we know it. Remember to take time during the day to catch your breath. Don't allow the small things to stress you out (like uploading unit plans!). If you're feeling overwhelmed, talk to me. There are always ways to work things out.
A special thank you goes out to our very own Maria Garcia, Nely Renteria, and Carmen Velez for presenting for our parents on Wednesday. They shared creative ways for parents to help their students at home. This was an awesome PAC meeting!
Don't forget to spend your CTU money!
Parking Lot Updates
Clerk's Corner
All staff members, with the exception of Security and Parent Worker/Hourly employees, should use Frontline (formerly AESOP) to request a substitute when absent. Do this as soon as possible. It takes Frontline at least 2-3 hours to post absences.
Student attendance should be submitted before 8:30 am. If a student walks into your room after you have submitted (or after the pledge) make sure to send them to the office for a tardy pass. We will make sure to adjust the attendance for that student. We have been getting calls from parents stating that their child arrived but was marked absent.
Just Ask Jess
Thank you so much to all that are entering interventions in logger. Please make sure that you add data/notes as well!!
I have been trying to send updated notes about 504's as they happen. Please make sure if you are going on field trips that asthma pumps, medication, etc. are taken with you.
The Counselor's Couch
ESPecially for ESPs
Don't forget to be at your duty stations on time. We have had indoor line up most mornings and there are still occasions where ESPs are not on their assigned post. Not sure where your post is in the morning? Just ask Jess! Teachers are not required to open their classroom doors until 8:00 am. Please respect that right and monitor the students accordingly.
Thank you to everyone for improved attendance. There has been a noticeable increase of support staff swiping in on time each day. Please avoid eating food or drinking beverages while on duty--it really isn't professional.
