My digital day begins

Here we go

Those early saturday mornings

At 6 am, on this early Saturday morning, my digital day begins. The first thing I do when I wake up is to get in the shower. I have to be at work at 7, so i have a little extra time to wake up in the shower. As soon as I get out of the shower, i rinse off with a towel, get dressed, and head down stairs. My digital day begins as I start looking through my news feed on Instagram while i'm eating breakfast. I scroll through everything that I missed out on while I was asleep. After I've seen everything that I've missed through the night, I finally send my girlfriend a text telling her good morning.

The drive to work is always fun

It's about 6:40 am right now and my work starts at 7. The drive to work is only about 15 minutes, which is enough for about 4 or 5 songs. My mom always gets on me about switching my songs while i'm driving because it takes my eyes off the road, so I play an app called Pandora while I drive. Pandora allows me to listen to music I like without me looking down at my iPod and changing the song. Pandora makes driving less dangerous on these rough Saturday mornings. I never realized that I even do this every Saturday morning.Using the Pandora app every Saturday has become more of a habit, rather than something I go out of my way to do.

Usually when I get to work, I get there a little early. Usually i get there at about 6:45. I dont have to start until 7, so i decide to go on Facebook and see what everyone was up to last night. I like Facebook a lot, mainly because I can see what my family members and some freinds have been up to. I eat my breakfast while casually looking through my newsfeed. It's now 7 o'clock so I decide to clock in for work.

TIme for work!

It is time for work! How sad is it that i work 20 hours a week and still live check to check as a teen just spending money on car insurance and gas mostly! Oh, what a joy the life of a middle class highschool boy is. At this time I tell my girlfriend goodbye and turn off my phone to make sure I keep busy. I text her sometimes throughout the day, but only when my manager isn't looking or if one of my favorite managers come in.

Staring at a computer screen

All day while i'm at work i'm either at front counter (the people that take your order when you come into McDonald's) or back booth (the people that take your order through "drive-thru" and take you money for your meal). I always work front counter from 7am to 11am. During this time i punch in little buttons on this small screen that tells what the cooks in the back need to make for the customer. This wears me out mentally becuase i have to stair a screen for a little over 4 hours straight. I get headaches most of the time, but it's just something i have to bee tough about and get through

Break time.

Usually a little after 11, I get a 35 minute break. This break gives my brain some time to recover from the screen for a little while, so i usually call my girlfreind and talk to her for about half an hour. I always go into the break room and relax on one of the recliners that they have. I pay attention to the television in the breakroom and my girlfreind gets mad at me sometimes because she thinks i'm ignoring her for the TV. It kind of distracts me sometimes, but it doesnt really matter

Back to work I go

Now it's time to get back to work. I'm tired by now but just keep remidning myself that i don't have much longer to go. I now have to deal with the cash that I recieve in the back booth, so i have to be extra care as to what I'm doing. I have to make sure I give out the right amount of money to the people that are getting it. While taking cash, i have to make sure i'm giving and recieving the right amount of money to the right car. I do this from about 11:30 to 4:30

Time to count money and head home

At the end of the day, it's time to see how well I did on my cash register. It's such a relief to go back in the office and count the money in the register and know that I get to head home soon. We use this machine that measures all of the cash to the nearest cent. It's an extremley accurate way to count money. It's also a very efficient way to, as it only takes about 20 minutes. This is one way that technology has advanced in a good way. I would hate to count all that money one by one. I usually get done counting the money at about 5pm to 5:15

Coming home

I usually get to my house about 5:30 to 6. It's such a relaxing feeling to come home and take a shower and get the McDonald's smell off of you. I'm heading to my girlfreind's house soon, so I can't smell too bad. When I get out of the shower I dry off and text my girlfreind letting her know that i'm going to be on my way soon. I usually leave my house around 6:30

My girlfreind's house.

I get to my girlfriend's house around 7pm, and it's my favorite part of the day. I get to see the person I like the most for a really long time. If it's not a special occasion, we usually just lay down in her room and watch TV for a while. We talk to eachother a lot during commercials and just pay attention to the show while it's playing. Most of the time I fall asleep on her becuase I never seem to get enough sleep. I love those naps.

Time to go home and go to bed

My curfew on a saturday night is 1am, so I make sure not to be late. It's hard leaving my girlfriend, but I know I have to get home on time. I leave around 12:40 so I don't have to rush home. By this time, i'm dead tired and have to keep my eye open until I get home. I always get home on time, and as soon as I come inside, I throw my keys in my dresser and set my alarm clock for church. I will have a lot less technology in the following day.
