A Glimpse Into The Fashion World
Inroduction
My name is Addison, in seventh grade and in this blog is going to introduce Fashion History, Sketching and Design, Sewing Construction, interior design, and Advertising and Marketing and will include videos and pictures.
1930's
The women wore dresses and kept their hair close to their head. Fur was in and so were floral patterns. Makeup was chic and shoulder pads were very important until the late 1930s. Although hats were still popular for women, they were gradually becoming less popular.
1940's
Men were still pretty dressed up. Suits, ties and hats were commonplace in public. Women wore dresses and skirts — they still didn’t wear slacks yet.
1950's
Fashion in the 1950s varied greatly from the beginning to end. Maybe not quite as extreme as the 60s, 1950s fashion saw the introduction of many new styles
1960's
The early sixties were more reminiscent of the 1950s — conservative and restrained; certainly more classic in style and design. The late 1960s were the exact opposite. Bright, swirling colors.
1970's
Polyester was the material of choice and bright colors were everywhere. Men and women alike were wearing very tight fitting pants and platform shoes. By 1973, most women were wearing high cut boots and low cut pants.
1980's
1980's fashion had heavy emphasis on expensive clothes and fashion accessories. Apparel tended to be very bright and vivid in appearance.
Sketching and Design
Floor Plans: Floor plans help you place furniture in functional arrangements for ideal traffic patterns. Think of a floor plan as taking the roof off your house and looking down upon it.
