Team Meetings Held Thursday & Friday
Over the course of Thursday and Friday, GMS Administration held team meetings with students to review GMS Handbook policies and appropriate behavior. We created this opportunity as a follow up to the two incidents involving marijuana. The goal of these meetings is to continue to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. We addressed the following topics:
- Respectful behavior
- Bullying
- Drugs and alcohol
- Weapons
- See something, say something
- Peer pressure and making good choices
In all of these cases, we stressed both the policies and consequences as well as educated students on the social, emotional and health implications of making poor choices. Thank you for following up with your child(ren) about these important topics.

Early Dismissal
We realize that it may be necessary at times to dismiss your child from school. If this need occurs, please write a note in the morning stating the name of your child, grade, and time of dismissal. Your child should bring this note to the Guidance secretary, Lynn Piana, before school. This notice is posted in our daily attendance for the teachers. Children may then leave their class at the appropriate time and check out through the main office. All parents and guardians must come to the main office to pick up their children. This note in the morning also alleviates interrupting classes to page the student. Thank you.
