Congratulations on a wonderful finish to the marching season. The staff and I are beyond proud of each of you! We finished 7th in our class with a score of 85.5. Each of our soloists performed amazingly as well, with Jacob Dorfmeister earning a medal for his self composed quad solo.

Thank you to each one of our volunteers for helping to make yesterday run as smoothly as it did. We could not function without the continued support of our amazing parent group.
This week we will continue to work on our winter band concert music, prepare our region audition etudes, and will begin work on percussion ensemble literature.

Wakeland Color Guard
Dear WWG Cast and Family,
Good afternoon! Our first week of rehearsal for both winter guards has started off tremendously strong! Our first rehearsals were dance and technique-driven, then both groups began preliminary staging on their second rehearsal. All-in-all, both groups have about one minute of the "big picture" ideas.
This week, both programs will continue with developing technique in class and rehearsals, as well as moving forward with staging. My goal by the time we leave for break is to have both programs near two minutes of staging!
An overview of our week:
- Class
- Tuesday/Thursday (1:20-2:20pm)
- Rehearsals
- Varsity: Monday/Wednesday (6-9pm) and Friday (5-10pm)
- JV: Tuesday/Thursday (6-9pm) and Saturday (1-4pm)
- Tuesday at Frisco Paintball, Thursday at WHS
- Performances
- None
- Additional
- Tuesday, November 13th: Spirit Night @ Panera Bread
Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity have their first staging camps this Friday and Saturday. There will be no rehearsals next week due to the holiday break; we will resume on Monday, November 26th. However, because we do not have rehearsal all cast members are required to take their equipment home over the break to practice!
We have a Spirit Night this Tuesday, November 13th at Panera Bread from 4pm to 8pm (Main/DNT Location Only). Spirit Night's are great fundraisers for the Wakeland Band program, and is open to the public. However, if you , or your invited guests, decide to have lunch/dinner at Panera during this time, you must present the attached Panera Bread flier at time of pay! I have also included this attachment on the front page of the color guard website!
Both programs are beginning with heavy use of weapon (rifles and sabre). We will continue to work in big groups with equipment technique, but individual assessment and training with our staff members have expedited the learning curve. If lessons are something you are interested in, please visit the front page of our color guard website and scroll down to Lesson Sign-Ups with our world-class staff.
Lastly, cast members are expected to remain physically active on their off-days and during the course of the holiday breaks! We are in the easiest part of the season; remember that the show demands get difficult by January!
Let't have another great day!
