International Baccalaureate Update
Please welcome our new International Baccalaureate Coordinator, Kelse Risner. Mr. Risner is joining us from Douglas County High School and is a devoted believer in IB. From his teaching experience overseas to his 6 years in Douglas County pre-ThunderRidge, Mr. Risner is excited to now officially be a Grizzly!
This year the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in particular is going to be focused on the ideas of power through student inquiry. The DP students will explore and develop the ideas of power and what that means in Literature vs. Mathematics, History vs. Film, and Business vs. Science just to name a few. Power is all around us and what it looks like and how we engage with it varies greatly.
If you have any questions about our IB Programme or just want to reach out please feel free to email Mr. Risner at kwrisner@dcsdk12.org.

This week in Advisement....
Freshmen β¨
The freshmen class watched a presentation about Advisement and how to make the most of their time in the class. Each teacher presented our student handbook and discussed school rules and policies.
Sophomores π
Juniors π¨βπ«
Fun, thrilling, awkward: the three adjectives to describe the juniors first Advisement meeting. Juniors will get to experience the exciting world of career exploration and preparing for a career. Buckle up because where we are going there are no roads.
Seniors π
Seniors attended a kick off assembly with Mr. Patterson. Students reviewed expectations at TR and talked how to be a leader and set an example for the underclassmen.
