Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences
Virtual Parent Teacher Conference Sign-Up
Parent Teacher Conferences are a very important opportunity for communication between home and school. We look forward to having the time to share information about the progress of your child(ren).
The District has set aside two days for virtual conferences during Thanksgiving week. We appreciate you making yourself available during these times to meet with your child’s teacher. The conference dates are Monday, November 22nd (2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) and Tuesday, November 23rd (8:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.)
There will be an email from the District Office coming with directions on how to sign-up for your virtual Parent Teacher Conference. If you have additional questions, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.
Specialists teachers are available for conferences upon request. Please email the teacher to set up a conference time.
Lock Down Drill with Clarendon Hills Police
Dear Prospect Community,
Per the School Safety Drill Act covered under Illinois Statute (105 ILCS 12/20), this notification is being provided to parents and guardians of students attending Prospect. On November 12th at approximately 2:30, Prospect will conduct a lockdown drill that will include school staff, students, and Clarendon Hills law enforcement agency representative(s). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, educators will instruct and prepare students for the unlikely event of a violent intruder via full class instruction. Students will not all move to a safe corner of the room in order to avoid close contact as defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
We understand that some parents/guardians may want to opt out of this type of drill for their child. As the parent/guardian of a student attending Prospect, you have the option to exempt your child, for any reason, from the drill. If you choose to exempt your child from the drill, please notify Mary Ann Alberts at 630-861-4401 or malberts@d181.org no later than the day of the drill.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Kristin Cummings
Principal
October 29th- Lunch, Fall Party and Costume Parade
Modified Lunch times for Grades 1-5: Kindergarten will follow their normal schedule in the am.
Modified lunch hour for all students in Grades 1-5: 11:45 – 12:45 PM (Students may go home for lunch and change into their costume.)
If you need your child to stay for lunch at Prospect on Halloween, they should bring their costumes in a bag to dress into during the lunch hour. All other students should change into their costumes at home during the lunch hour. PM Kindergarten students may come to school at 12:45 with their siblings, or attend at their usual time.
Costumes: Costumes should be appropriate for a school environment and elementary age school children and should not reflect violence. Costumes that reflect blood and gore should not be worn. Costumes should be designed as to not block the student’s vision. “Look alike” weapons are prohibited at school. Costumes should not include make believe guns, knives or weapons of any kind. Keep in mind that students will be walking during the parade and sitting in classrooms for the parties.
Parade: The parade is from 1:00-1:30 PM
Weather permitting, parents, siblings, grandparents, etc are invited to watch the Halloween parade. Please look at the map below. The parade route has been lengthened to ensure their is plenty of room for all who is viewing the parade to social distance. Students will walk on the sidewalks, so please stand in the grass so the students can pass by safely. In the event of inclement weather, our parade will take place in the building for students only.
Class parties will take place after the parade.
