What's Happening in Science and Social Studies
January, 2015
We're back and ready to move on! I hope everyone had a great holiday break. I can't believe it's 2015! (Look out Marty McFly, we're ready for you!) We are just getting a good start on our Ecosystems Unit - Plant and Animal Behaviors and Adaptations. As part of this unit we have been researching a NC endangered species. Our informational flyers are looking great!
Think about it:
What adaptations do we, as humans, make to our environment in order to live here?
In Social Studies, before the break, we talked about the Lost Colony. After more than 400 years, is that mystery close to being solved? Coming up, we will be reading more about the first people to settle this great state of ours.
Early North Carolinians
Why here?
Where did they come from?
Did they have to adapt?
How did they modify their new home?
