Message from Dr. Fay & Mrs. Henson
Dear Crossroads Parents,
Hello! We have had a very successful start to our new year. We love how the weather is cooperating and allowing us to get outside each day. All of our new students and our kindergarten students have been sorted into their Houses. Now they can help their House earn points. Check out the pictures below from our sorting assembly with our kindergarten students and some first week pics.
For the last several years we have been focusing on 20 specific expectations we’d like our students to have. A few examples so far are:
Make eye contact when someone is speaking
When a substitute is present, all class rules still apply
Always say thank you when given something
Our students can earn House points by following these expectations and by going above and beyond with wonderful behavior. Please ask about our 20 essentials and encourage your children to follow them each day.
Thank you! Have a great September!

PTA Update!
Hi Corgis!
It’s hard to believe that it’s September. School is in full swing and we’ve got a busy month planned. Our first Dining Night Out is September 7th at Cold Stone Creamery. This is a great one because they will give us 25% of all Crossroads purchases that night between 4-8pm. What a great reason to eat ice cream! Just show the flyer when ordering, wear spirit wear or tell them you’re there for Crossroads Elementary. We know that Crossroads can really show up for these Dining Nights, so let’s make this first one amazing!
We hope to see you at our first general meeting September 13 at 7pm in the cafeteria. If you would like to participate, but can’t make it in person, we will have a virtual option. Keep an eye on your email for the link to join. Don’t forget to join the PTA before the meeting so that you are able to vote. It’s incredibly easy, just click the link below and fill out the membership form. It just takes a couple of minutes and at the end you will be directed to our PayPal Giving Fund to pay the membership fee ($6) online.

We also have our first social event of the year this month, Party on the Playground & Movie Night. Crossroads Corgis and families are welcome to come out and enjoy a celebration of the start of the school year! We will have yard games, music, food trucks and of course, the Crossroads school playground! Join us for the fun on Friday, September 16 at 5:30 pm. Starting at 7:30pm, we will be showing Lilo & Stitch and serving free popcorn. Bring along your lawn chairs and blankets to have a place to sit for the movie. We hope to see you there!
Don’t forget – spirit wear and house merchandise are still available at our online Corgi Store. Pre-orders will end on September 9 and will be delivered to your child’s classroom in early October.Check out all of the fabulous new styles at the link below.

We’re Going Crazy! We are very excited to be launching our big fundraiser at the end of the month. Raise Craze is a fundraiser where students collect donations and then show their appreciation by serving others and completing random Acts of Kindness. In other words, students spend time serving, not selling! The way it works is students ask friends and family members to support our school by making tax deductible donations, and then they pay it forward by doing good deeds. We will be running the fundraiser from September 27 - October 12 . During this time, we will have a week of service in order to complete acts of service as a community. And we will keep it fun for the kids with classroom competitions, a kindness chain and individual and classroom prizes. We chose Raise Craze because it reinforces kindness in the classroom and improves the culture of our school. We loved that everyone can participate by completing Acts of Kindness. No one is left out! And because Raise Craze is about more than just raising money, we’ve set an Acts of Kindness goal in addition to a financial goal. No Act of Kindness is too small and every one counts so please encourage your children to log Acts of Kindness on their personal websites every day. If we meet our goals, we’ll have a special surprise at our Closing Celebration. Hint: it involves laughing at the principals! We will be sharing a lot more information as we get closer.
Stay tuned, we’ve got lots of fun events coming up!

Tyler Student 360 Responsible Use Policy
As we start the 22-23 school year, required student forms, along with the Responsible Use Policy (RUP) must be completed before your child(ren) can log into district technology resources. The forms, including the RUP can be signed online through Tyler Student 360. Please complete the required form(s) as soon as possible, so that your child(ren)’s access will remain enabled for the school year.
The Tyler SISK12 Student 360 website can be accessed from the homepage on the district website or using the Tyler Student 360 app. When logging in, please click the “Online Registration” banner to complete the forms.
Please be aware that there is a 24-48 hour delay between the submission of the forms and your child's access being reactivated.
Arrival and Dismissal - Please Read Carefully
All of our car riders and our daycare van riders will go to the gym at the end of the day. Once in the gym, a staff member will call students’ names over the radio for them to come out to meet their vehicle. A staff member will escort students to each car.
PLEASE READ: We are no longer allowing parents to walk up to get their children. You will need to drive through the pick-up line.
We sent home lime green car tags with all students on their first day of school, 8/22. (They will also be available at Meet the Teacher night.) ***PLEASE USE A THICK MARKER TO FILL THESE OUT***
When you drive through the car lanes, please have the lime green car tag on your dashboard where we can see the names of your students. If you do not have the car tag, we will have to check your ID, radio the office, and wait for them to clear you before we can call your child out. As you can imagine, this will slow down the process for everyone.
A few other things to keep in mind with this process: Please remember, we do not accept dismissal changes after 3:00 pm. Also, our primary focus is student safety and 3:20 is a critical time when children can potentially get lost in the shuffle; it is imperative that we streamline the secretaries’ time to focus only on emergencies that arise. With that in mind, please understand that we will not permit access to the office after 3:20 to check out a student. Please plan accordingly so we aren’t caught in the position to have to tell you no.
Also, remember that you are responsible for calling in to change if your walker will become a car rider during the days with inclement weather. We will no longer be sending a text about rainy day dismissals.
The expectation is all parents will have the lime green car tags ready to go by August 29. If you have any questions or thoughts, please let us know.
Please review our arrival and dismissal maps below:

Updated Proof of Residency Requirements
Again for the 2022-2023 school year, our buildings will ask every current family to provide updated proof of residency to the school that serves the oldest child in the family. The documents can be uploaded the SIS Parent Portal now through September 30. After logging in to the parent Portal you will click the Required e-forms link in the yellow banner near the top of your child's information screen. This will take you to the 22-23 Annual Proof of Residency link. Use this link to upload the needed documents. A list of the approved documents is provided below. Please contact your school's secretary or registrar for further information. New enrollments will be required to provide full proof of residency documentation.

Leases:
Provide current lease with all occupant names and utility bill (water, sewer, electric, gas) within the last 30 days. Utility bill mailing address and service address must match. If a lease transitions to month-to-month then provide the updated addendum. If it is a mobile home trailer and pad, then the lease for both should match. Leases should include all pages of the lease.

You Shop, The School Gets Paid!
Did you know that when you shop on Amazon, it’s easy for Crossroads to get a small percentage from your purchase? All you have to do is shop through AmazonSmile instead of Amazon. Once you’ve set up your account, your shopping experience will be identical. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. Crossroads Elementary PTA would be grateful to be the charity you choose. Go to smile.amazon.com to get started. Once you’ve set this up, it’s easy to set up your Amazon app to link to AmazonSmile as well.
