NO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK
In Summit, the Blue Line will stop moving over this Thanksgiving Break. This means students will not get behind during break, but it is a good time for students to get caught up on work they have not done so far this semester.
Upon returning to school Nov 30, there are 3 week left of this first semester of the 2020-21 school year. Some classes are semester long classes, therefore they will be finishing the course up. Ask your student if they have work they need to be completing sot hey can finish the semester strong.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, be safe and stay healthy.
Summit Success
This week teachers worked to target students who had gotten off-track with support and resources. As of Thursday, here is what was accomplished:
- 17% of students are off track in only 1 Project
- (9 more students are fully on track with projects that were not on Monday)
- 20% of students are off track in 1-2 PFAs.
- (18 students have moved from 1-2 off-track to on track)
- 73% of students have set a goal in the last week.
- 76% of students have had a mentor meeting in the last 2 weeks
While these moves can look small, we have also had a fairly large impact on those a little further off track:
- PFAs
- The number of students off-track in 5+ PFAs has gone from 10% to 9%
- THIS MEANS 3 STUDENTS MOVING CLOSER TO ON TRACK
- The number of students off-track in 3-4 PFAs has gone from 11% to 7%!
- THIS MEANS 12 STUDENTS MOVED COSER TO ON TRACK
- The number of students on track with PFAs number has gone from 53% to 63%!
- THIS MEANS 28 MORE KIDS ARE ON TRACK THIS WEEK
21% of our school has moved closer to being on-track or have gotten on-track in 3 days. Teachers are reaching out to students, and there are always opportunities to get any needed support. If your student is in need to support encourage them to reach out to their teacher or feel free to start that communication yourself.

Senior Pictures & Baby Photos DUE DATE for Yearbook
Please email the original size photo from the photographer to Julia.harmon@frankfort.kyschools.us. Usually 3/4 body shot, or head shots look the best in the yearbook. Full body, or standing full length pose tend to make the Senior's face too small on the page.

The 2021 GSE Experience and Opportunities to Learn More
The Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) will begin accepting applications for summer 2021 on Monday, Nov. 16. GSE brings teens together from around the state of Kentucky, immerses them in a creative space, and arms them with the tools they need to unleash their entrepreneurial spirits. While all participants gain vital entrepreneurial skills through the program to use as they enter the workplace or continue into higher education, 11 new businesses have already been launched by young alumni of the GSE program. Others have filed for multiple patents and developed new ideas and relationships that sow the seeds for more business formation. In addition, as a direct result of their participation in GSE, entrepreneurs qualify for some $3 million in scholarship opportunities from Kentucky's universities and colleges.
GSE has scheduled seven virtual events on Hopin this fall for prospective applicants and their families to showcase the GSE experience and dive into the application process. The link to register is below, as well as the schedule for events.
