From the Principal...
November 12th, 2021
Dear Westbrook Families,
Our first trimester came to a close last Friday. Please check your child’s backpack today for the first-trimester report card. Teachers are busy preparing for parent-teacher conferences. Please review the conference sign-up and choose a time to meet with your child’s teacher. We will not have formal conferences outside of our conference night schedule on November 16th, 18th, and 30th from 4:20-8:20 pm. You can sign up for a time with your child’s teacher at this Sign-Up Link. You will be asked if you prefer an in-person conference at Westbrook or a Zoom conference. Zoom links can be found at this link. The sign-up will officially close on Monday, November 15th at 8:00 am.
We ask that all parents/guardians entering the building wear a mask and use hand sanitizer upon entry to the classroom. In addition, we ask you to maintain social distancing of six feet. If you have any covid symptoms (or active covid cases within your home), please notify the teacher, and you will be offered the opportunity to connect via zoom.
For your Children,
Danielle Crandall

Note from the Nurse: COVID-19 Vaccination Card Information
Dear Parents,
We are asking parents to send a copy of their child's Covid vaccination card to the health office after their child receives dose #2 of the Covid vaccine. This information is important to have on file as students who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks post 2nd dose) do not need to quarantine if identified as a close contact (per IDPH guidelines) and remain asymptomatic.
Thank you,
Julie Tworek, RN

Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is very full.
Please check the Lost and Found during Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Lost and Found is located near the gym.
A friendly reminder to label all items your child brings to school. We try to reunite lost items with their owners before they are placed in the Lost and Found.

District 57 Education Foundation
The District 57 Education Foundation is a non-profit organization comprised of Mount Prospect community members whose mission is to raise money to fund grants in the areas of curriculum, wellness, and technology. Grant requests may be written and submitted by district teachers, staff, students, and parents. The grants enrich the educational experiences of all students, helping them to achieve at their highest potential. Funded grants allow teachers to have access to the resources they need to support teaching and learning at Westbrook, Lions Park, Fairview, and Lincoln schools.
Over the years, the Foundation has funded computers, iPads, ELMO projectors, Smartboards, musical instruments, art supplies, fitness equipment, and supplemental reading material - all to enrich our children’s educational experiences. We are currently in a new Grant Request Cycle. A description of the grant request submission process and form is located within the Grants section of our website at https://www.57edfoundation.org
Grant requests are due by 12/17/2021 to the Ed Foundation at d57edfoundationgrants@gmail.com
Parent community members who are interested in submitting a grant request should contact the school principal to which the grant will benefit. The Ed Foundation will review all requests at our February meeting. Please contact the Ed Foundation Grant team at d57edfoundationgrants@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you for your continuous support of the D57 Education Foundation.
