Trail Guide 4
Tehaleh Heights Elementary
Trailblazer Families,
Our partnership with families and the Tehaleh Heights community is important to us. We appreciate how we all work together to support our students, whether they are at school or out in the neighborhood playing.
Being able to communicate on a regular basis is a goal for us this year and also being able to offer resources that you can access quickly. Below you will find two resources that we have linked for you. The Student and Family Information Guide (Handbook) is great to have in case you have questions about things like technology code of conduct, dress policy, FERPA, school safety, etc. We also know that families lead very busy lives and dates and events can sneak up on us! We include dates for your calendar in each edition of THE Trail Guide, but we are including a link to the district calendar as well.
We hope that these two resources are helpful and we will continue to add resources regularly!

Spread the Love with K-Kids
Join our K-Kids in spreading the love to our community food banks by donating individual sized peanut or nut butters and protein bars.
K-Kids is a student-led community service organization that operates under school regulations and draws its members from our Tehaleh Heights 4/5th grade student body. K-Kids provides members with opportunities to perform acts of service, build character and develop leadership skills. Our local Kiwanis club serves as the club’s sponsor and is supported by Tehaleh Heights Elementary volunteers.
Mondays are late start at 10:35 with doors opening at 10:20
September is National Attendance Month!
Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to:
● reduce stress
● make it easier to connect with friends and teachers
● support learning
Reminder: THE does not have supervision for the Berkeley Parkway stop sign or at the building until 8:45 each morning! For the safety of all our students, please be mindful of the time when coming to school. Thank you!!
Please call the office if your student is absent or you have questions about your student's attendance at 253-891-6530

Click the link below to get your trunk involved in the fun - we loved the creativity of our families last year with the “children's book" theme, so we’re sticking with it! The PTA will provide the treats! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0948A4AE2CA5FE3-2022
A big thanks to PTA Events Chairperson Brittany Dela Vega and our PTA Events Team for stepping up to orchestrate this fun-filled evening!
Comfort Kits
Last call for ordering prepackaged Comfort Kits through the PTA. The last day to order is Sept. 30. You are also welcome to build your own and send to school with your child. These student emergency kits are kept in the classroom for the school year and returned in June. Complete details available at www.tehalehheightspta.org
*We’re excited to kick off our PTA Staff Appreciation Snack Cart in October! Our 2nd Grade Families are up first for hosting: please keep an eye on your Class Parents groups on Facebook for more details on contributing! And thanks in advance!
*The PTA is proud to announce that we’ve put in the order for Scholastic News and Science Spin for all our K-5 students – those info-packed publications are due to start arriving in late October and will come multiple times each month throughout the school year!

Character Trait of the Month: Respect
This month, we are talking about R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Respect means seeing the good in people and things & treating them with care. We shared that a way to respect someone is to take the time to learn someone's name and pronounce it correctly. With the start of the year and our students getting to know new teachers and classmates, this was a perfect time! Our students in be able to show respect by looking a friend in the eye and greet them by using their name. Names are important and have special meaning and value to a person or family. We challenged all our Trailblazers to think about how they can show Respect this month!
