The WES Parent Wildcat Weekly
Home of the Wildcats!
Week of April 5 - 9, 2021
Hello from Principal Holmes!
Dear Wildcat Parents,
What a beautiful weekend filled with sunshine and pretty weather! I hope everyone was able to enjoy some relaxing time with family! I was able to visit with my Mom & siblings and what a blessing that was to be able to do that.
Hybrid learners will begin their four days a week on April 12th! Until then, hybrid learners will come into the building their same two days and then meet with their teacher virtually the other three days. Beginning April 12th, since all hybrid learners will be in the building for four days, the only virtual day of learning for our hybrid learners will be on Wednesdays at 9:00a.m. Learners who are 100% virtual will continue on their same morning or afternoon schedules.
Parent pick-up will continue to be at the circle in front of the school with our learners exiting from the gym. We continue to ask for everyone's patience as we work out the logistics for all of our leaners (about 100 of them) come April 12th and to ensure a safe dismissal for everyone. It may be a little slower than usual. We will establish multiple lines in the upper parking lot to avoid a line of cars in the roadway. This seems to be working out well.
The RACE for Education is just around the corner and we are tied for first place with the most people registered. We can do this wildcats and bring home the $300! The race will be held virtually April 16-18 so you can run/walk at your leisure! Please be sure to share out pictures so we can see everyone's smiling faces as they enjoy this great family time together. See the info below for more details and how to acquire a t-shirt for registering.
With only 39 days remaining of this school year, we ask for your continued support of our learners, teachers, and staff. These two months are really important for they typically allow our learners to blossom as they make connections with everything they are learning. We will make all efforts to ensure learning is taking place in our classrooms. All learners will have an outdoor recess for exercise and brain breaks are important. Recess is also a great time for our learners to foster their relationships with their peers.
Have a wonderful and productive week! We look forward to seeing all of our wildcats on Tuesday!
With wildcat pride and spirit,
Dianne Holmes
Principal

Race for Education - WES is tied for the lead!! We can do it!
This family-friendly 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will raise funds to enhance the quality and impact of student learning experiences in Spotsylvania County Public Schools (SCPS) through the Spotsylvania Education Foundation (SEF).
Now, more than ever, SCPS teachers, students, and families need support from our community. The Spotsylvania Education Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, supports innovative programs and projects for the students and employees of Spotsylvania County Public Schools, which enhance student learning and contribute to success after graduation. During this unprecedented time, the Foundation will continue to work closely with SCPS to identify how to best support students and teacher.
SEF is hosting the race virtually this year! Participants will complete their 5K or 1 Mile during April 16-18. Race bibs and t-shirts* will be available for pick up on April 15 and 16.
Don't forget to register for the Spotsylvania Education Foundation Race for Education!
The elementary school with the most participation will win $300 for our school! Come on wildcats, we can do this! It will be fun!
