MHS Happenings
Week of April 3rd
From the Principal
Dear Bear Family,
I hope that you are all doing well with the transition to remote learning and that you are staying healthy. If you are experiencing problems, please don’t stress! We knew that there were going to be issues and we are committed to work with you to find solutions. We have been collecting names of students that need laptops or paper packets from our teachers, and will have a distribution on Wednesday, April 1st. If you have not yet communicated your need to anyone at the school, please email your child’s administrator ASAP so that we can have materials ready for you. Below are the email addresses:
Seniors – jennifer.griffin@misd.org
Juniors – sherri.hardy@misd.org
Sophomores – connie.mathis@misd.org
Freshmen – matthew.bess@misd.org
On Wednesday, April 1st, we will use the following schedule for distribution:
7:00 to 9:00: Laptop Distribution (Laptops must be logged into before you leave the school; it is helpful to either have your student with you or have their login information)
10:00 to 12:00: Paper Packet Distribution for students with last names A – L
12:00 to 2:00: Paper Packet Distribution for students with last names M - Z
Please enter the middle parking lot and proceed through the bus ramp lane. We will have signs to direct you on what to do once you arrive. We are using this schedule to support social distancing and protect the safety of our school community; however, if you are unable to come at the assigned time, we will work to accommodate you.
Remember to take this one step at time and do not let your students get overwhelmed. Our number one goal is to make sure that every student is able to be successful. We are here to support you!
Sincerely,
Brandi Hendrix

From the Nurse
Below are everyday steps that can help prevent the spread of Covid-19 and all respiratory diseases:
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you or someone is sick at your home, stay in a separate room and use a separate bathroom if possible. If not, clean with disinfectant when objects and surfaces when touched.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If a tissue is not available cough into your elbow
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. The type of soap is not important; it is the motion of washing that cleanses your hands. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
I am available by email for any individual questions or concerns.

From Technology
Many teachers are asking students to take a picture or scan their work back to them. We wanted to share two easy ways to scan documents with your phone. There is video to do it with an I Phone and another with the Office Lens app.
