A Message from Mrs. Haymark

Dear Vogel Texans Families,

It's hard to believe that we have made it to March and Spring Break is upon us! This is been such an incredible year thus far, and we are looking forward to the greatness the remainder of the school year holds.

Please take a few minutes to review the contents of this newsletter filled with exciting events as well as important news. We appreciate all that you do each day as we work collectively to grow our students. Thank you for you continued support!

Please reach out at 832-663-4300 if you have further questions.

Dress Code

With warm weather on the horizon, students will begin dusting off their spring clothes. Please take a moment before Spring is completely upon us to go through your child's clothes to ensure they still fit appropriately and follow school guidelines. It's amazing how quickly students at this age grow! Some important guidelines to consider:

*no slides, all shoes must have a back for safety reasons

*no large holes high on legs

*no spaghetti straps

*approaching fingertip length for shorts/skirts

*appropriate tennis shoes for PE

Lunch Visitors

As we continue reopening Vogel to visitors, we are pleased to announce that families no longer need to signup to visit for lunch! Families will be able to eat lunch with their child without the need for a reservation.

Clinic News

There are 2 Required immunizations for incoming 7th graders . They are Tdap (Tetnas, Diptheria & Acelluar Pertussis) & Meningitis (MCV4). Many children receive these during their 5th grade or 6th grade routine doctor visits. Please provide an updated immunization record to the school nurse whenever your child receives new vaccines. Please email a copy of your shot records to scoyne@conroeisd.net or send a copy in with your student , and they can drop them off at the clinic.

Human Growth and Development Videos

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires a course of human growth and development to be given to all 5th and 6th grade students. This presentation will provide age appropriate information regarding the changes occurring in the the growth and development of this age group. CISD utilizes the Proctor & Gamble series "Always Changing". There are separate videos for boys and girls.

Vogel will be showing the video on Monday, March 7th and Tuesday, March 8th during PE classes. Parents may opt out to not have their student view the presentation. If you choose NOT to have your child view the presentation at school, please provide written notice prior to March 7th. If you have questions of concerns, please contact the school nurse at 832-663-4319 or scoyne@conroeisd.net.

March Madness

On March 9th and 10th, students will have the opportunity to celebrate all their hard work and accomplishment shown in the 3rd nine weeks! We will set aside some time during the school day for outdoor/indoor fun! The expectation for students to participate is all classroom assignments must be completed, no office referrals, no lunch detention, and no after school detention. Please encourage your kiddo to maintain the positive behavior demonstrated this entire school year as we want all our students to participate in the fun ahead!!
