End of Year Procedures
A Note from Dr. Melissa Williams-Scott
Congratulations…you have had another successful year in Dickinson ISD! As we move into the summer months, we know that you will all be busy juggling professional development and personal obligations (and hopefully having a little fun).
Please remember to ensure that all of your documents are saved either on your Home Drive (P-drive) or in your Dickinson ISD Google Drive (preferred as it is easier to access when away from the classroom). Any documents not saved in one of these two places could potentially be lost in the event of a hard drive failure or during routine summer maintenance by our team.
Please remember that no technology equipment is to be moved. Your campus will have done an audit and that equipment should remain where designated. The technology team will take care of any changes that need to be made.
We hope that you have a wonderful summer and that you sign up for some of the technology focused workshops occurring in preparation for the new school year.
So…
1. - Change your password before you leave for the summer so that it does not expire while you are out of district. Instructions for changing your password can be found here. Your Eduphoria password is not synced to these, so you may want to change it to match while you are at this process.
2. - Clean out your email including Sent mail and empty the trash.
3. - Back up all of your files to your Google Drive or P Drive.
In order to back up your documents:
1. - Open a Chrome Browser
2. - Go to google.com
3. - Select the blue Sign In Button
4. - Log in using your Dickinson ISD Google Apps Account (yourusername@apps.dickinsonisd.org, and your Active Directory - normal- password)
5. - Open your Google Drive
6. - Drag documents from your desktop or P drive into your Google Drive. You have unlimited storage here and it can be accessed from anywhere you have an Internet Connection.
