WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT
Friday, Jan. 21, 2022
The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022. It was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Public Access to BoardDocs.
COVID LEAVE
The leave that was approved provides up to five (5) days of paid COVID-leave to full-time employees who are unable to work or telework because the employee has tested positive for COVID-19 with an expiration date of June 30, 2022.
CHALLENGED MATERIALS
After the book "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison was formally 'challenged' and placed for committee review, the Board voted to not retain the book in the WSD.
HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE PARTNERS
There is a village of people to thank for their efforts related to this year’s Holiday Assistance Program. Each year, in December, the program provides gifts for our students in need. In total, 335 families received assistance and 915 students had gifts to open for the holidays.
Last night, school counselors and church partners were recognized for their efforts. School counselors already have a great deal on their plate, but they continue to be committed to ensuring every child has an opportunity to enjoy the holidays. Thank you to the following church partners: The Way Church, Wentzville Christian Church, Bridge Church, Wentzville United Methodist Church, Calvary Church, and Morning Star.
