Maintenance and Light Repair Students Visit Local Car Dealerships

On Wednesday, September 14, James Kelso's Maintenance and Light Repair classes visited Secret City Dodge and North Knoxville Chrysler Dodge Jeep. They were able to see sales, service, parts, after-market customization, detailing, collision repair, and the business office. Not only did students learn about the career opportunities in the automotive industry but students also learned about how geometry, physics, and chemistry are integral parts of certain tasks within these departments. Some highlights of the trip included watching a Hellcat burn some serious rubber, touring an off-road course in customized Jeeps, and a racecar tire change challenge that inspired students to prepare for the Top Wrench competition in the spring. We all had a blast!
