Relationship to Immune System

The Respiratory System works with the Immune system to filter out the air we breathe. Since the air is exposed to the germs all around us our respirator system is at high risk of getting infected. Lymphoids help the cilia and mucus membrane filter the germs and dirt out of the air to protect from infection.

Respiratory System related to Nutrition

The oxygen acquired from respiration is transported throughout the body and used for muscle contractions which move food throughout the digestive tract and absorb nutrients. These nutrients are then used for contraction of the diaphragm and intercostals that make us breathe.
