What a morning!
Making "cents" of it all...
A letter to our families,
Because many people had to utilize car line, we figured it is a good time to reiterate some of the important safety rules for our students during arrival and dismissal.
Please, please adhere to the signs, crosswalks, and signals. We are teaching our children how to be safe in our city and we need ALL of the adults to model this for ALL of our children. A few important reminders:
- Please follow the traffic... do not make illegal u-turns or double park
- Please cross at the crosswalks when the signal says walk
- Please be extremely careful if you are turning left from 10th St (it is actually much easier if you go down one block so you do not have to cross traffic turning onto French St.)
- Please do not park on French St anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. - this includes waiting for the carline to open! At 8:00 a.m. we set-up/open the carline and ask that families do not block the road or double park (we know circling is inconvenient but we are asking that you follow this request so that our staff can safely set up the car line and so that we are not blocking traffic).
Again, we understand that going to school in the city brings some different hurdles when it comes to transportation. We want this to be a pleasant experience for our families and an opportunity for our children to learn about how to function in a city. Thank you for taking this role seriously!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email courtney.fox@fsma.k12.de.us and if you would ever like to help with arrival or dismissal duty, you are always welcome to help.
Have a great rest of the day and we hope to see many of you tonight at the PTO Meeting (6:30 p.m. in the Lower School).
