Club Spotlight: Students Helping Honduras
This past July, a combination of eleven LHS students and alumni (Chelsea Buehner, Kelsey Guzman, Natasha Kalwachwala, Katya Manzano, Alyssa Polo, Roxana Rivas, Afreen Satarawalla, Sophie Stokman, Inika Vinod, Shayla Whiffin, and Karolina Zawadzka) traveled to northern Honduras with Students Helping Honduras club advisor, Alyssa Katz, and LIS teacher, Alison Levandowski. They spent a week building a school with the community members in Brisas del Sur, practiced their Spanish, hiked the mountains, played soccer, and got to know the amazing children and families in Honduras.
Check out SeƱorita Katz's blog to see more pictures from this incredible trip: https://akatzspanish.wordpress.com/
This year, the club will be fundraising to finish the construction on another school site, so please come out to out fundraisers and support our efforts! Email lhs@shhkids.org with any questions.
