What is the Global Read Aloud?

What Is GRA (Global Read Aloud?)

Pernille Ripp - a reading guru- began a Global Read Aloud Project in 2010. It is a way to connect our world through books. Teachers connect their classes via Skype, Google Hangout, Google Classroom, etc. to hold discussions of the books they are reading. I've read both The BFG and Pax (best for grade 3-6) and they are PERFECT read alouds! The idea of an author study is grades K-2 is also a wonderful idea. I would love to help you be a part of the Global Read Aloud.

Doing GRA in Hamilton

If you sign up my thought was to create a Google Classroom for Hamilton City Schools and we could do this Hamilton Style. We could post questions that are discussion based and students could participate and answer the questions within the Google Classroom. Think about the reading impact this could make on our students! There will be a Google Form below for you to fill out. I will create the Google Classrooms by book and send out the codes for joining. I will add any teachers as collaborators in the Classroom that way any of us can create questions we would like the students discussing.
