Support Chartwell and Enjoy a Private Showing of Elf!
We are excited to share the first "count-me-in" opportunity. Through the generosity of a parent donor, families can enjoy a private showing of Elf with other members of the Chartwell community and support the school's fundraising efforts!
Here's how it works:
- Families "purchase" a spot at the event for $30 per person
- The contribution goes to Chartwell's Annual Fund which supports all aspects of the school's programs.
- You and your family get to enjoy a private showing of Elf with other members of the Chartwell community
Wednesday, December 7
4:00 pm
Century Marina and XD (100 10th Street, Marina; next to Best Buy)
Elf
$30 per person - includes popcorn and a drink
This is not a school-organized event; all lower and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult.
Siblings welcome to attend.
If your family would like to participate and is in need of financial support to attend, please email Katia Stornetta at kstornetta@chartwell.org.
Donors should consult with their tax advisers or the IRS to determine what portion of a contribution is deductible.

LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Reminder: LMS Pizza Program
This will be the last week until January to sign-up for the LMS Pizza Program. The price has been lowered to $90 as two weeks of the program have gone by.
This allows for up to two slices of pizza each Friday, through June 2023, during which school is in session*, options will include cheese, pepperoni, and gluten-free. We are working on providing a dairy-free option, and will update the community when we know it is possible.
At this time, we are only offering the one-time package for the year to simplify the process. You can register here or via the link below.
For families for which this program would be a financial challenge, please email Alex Kopelevich, finance director, at akopelevich@chartwell.org to arrange a reduced fee.
If you want to confirm your sign-up or have questions, please email Elena Mueller at emueller@chartwell.org.
** The high school program is separate from this program and remains at $2 a slice.
HIGH SCHOOL NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Leadership Opportunity: Aim for Mental Health Ideas Lab
AIM Youth Mental Health invites high school students to take part in AIM Ideas Lab: A Youth Participatory Action Research project focused on elevating the voices of youth in discovering emerging mental health issues and advocating for programs, research, and public policy to address them.
Earn community service hours while working with teens from other high schools. Together, you'll learn about how to conduct your own mental health research, design and distribute surveys, and make recommendations to policy makers, researchers, and your community about how to address the youth mental health crisis that is growing in the wake of COVID.
If your child is interested in participating in the Ideas Lab or have additional questions, please contact Amanda Zonghi, assistant director of the high school, at azonghi@chartwell.org.

Please Bring Healthy Snacks and Lunch

HS Athletics: Basketball Season Has Begun
Both teams will begin practicing at the Monterey Sports Center next week from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Please contact Coach Patterson at rpatterson@chartwell.org if you need help with transportation or have additional questions.
