Flattening Our Classroom---taking our learning outside our classroom
We have been participating in the Global Math Twitter Task Challenge. Each day a class from around the country or world posts an age-appropriate question. We are working hard to solve these with a partner!
We are learning all about different types of communities a where other children live. One way we are doing this is by participating in Mystery Skype. We guessed our first one-Colorado-correctly!
To help with our economics unit along with our introduction to communities, we participated in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) challenge. The class chose to work individually or with a partner to create a building in our community with the gingerbread house material. Then we Skyped a Kindergarten class in rural Maine to compare our town versus theirs!
