HIV/ AIDS Prevention and Sexuality Education Parent Preview
Beginning in late October, middle and high school teachers, as well as student advocacy coordinators, will begin covering Sexuality Education and HIV/AIDS Prevention curriculum in 6th through 12th-grade science courses.
An overview of the age-appropriate content that will be presented to students can be accessed online at www.normanpublicschools.org/science. Parents also can preview the materials in their entirety Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the Administrative Services Center located at 131 S. Flood Avenue.
District leaders recognize parents and guardians as the primary educators of their children and encourage parents to have discussions with their children about these topics. Parents who do not want their children included in the education lessons must complete this form and submit it to the school principal no later than Oct. 23. Students who do not participate will be given an alternative assignment.
For additional information please contact NPS Science Coordinator Jeffrey Patterson at 405-447-6578 or jefferyp@norman.k12.ok.us.
