‘GROWING GREATNESS / GRANDEZA EN CRECIMIENTO'
Student-Led Goal Setting Conferences & Individual Conferences
The week of October 17-20 Baker Prairie will be holding virtual student led goal setting conferences with students, parents/guardians and your student’s advisory teacher through ZOOM. In this conference, your student will explain some of the goals they have set for this year and some of the challenges they may face in reaching those goals. Early in the year is a great time to make sure parents/guardians and teachers are all aligned and ready to provide guidance and support. Your advisory teacher will also be able to let you know about Baker Prairie resources that will help your student be successful. Your student’s Advisory teacher will be reaching out through email with information for you to sign up for you 15 time slot. Thank you for taking the time to attend this meeting.
In addition to the student-led Goal Setting Conferences, parents/guardians may also want to meet with individual teachers or a teacher may request to meet with you. Teachers will be emailing out information for you to sign up for an individual virtual conference time the week of October 17-20 through ZOOM. These conferences will be no more than 5-7 minutes long. It is best if the student is present so that they can participate in the discussion and provide their perspective.

WHAT DO STAFF DO ON EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAYS?
During CT on Wednesday, Ninety-One and BPMS staff joined together to work together in department teams. The teams developed working norms and their focus for their monthly work together. It was great having all these amazing educators working together on behalf of our seventh and eighth graders.
LEARNING ACROSS BAKER PRAIRIE
CTE CLASS WITH MR. BARRETT
Students were tasked with creating an "Airplane Manufacturing Business". They gave members of their team roles such as Mechanic, Engineer, and Designer, then competed to see which aircraft could go farthest, and hold the most weight. Students then talked about their design specs, made a prototype, and created an assembly line to see how fast they could produce said planes.
Students designed, measured out, and built model homes.
Our herb and winter vegetable mini gardens seem to be sprouting!
Students worked to refresh the paint on both sheds bordering our community garden.
