Coffee talk with Mr. Guzman
Dear Blue Jay Community:
As the calendar year comes to a close, we take the time to reflect on all that we have to be grateful for and all that the Blue Jay community does to serve those in need. Our good deeds reach far to serve many people and the students take the lead in so many of these initiatives. Whether it is through Athletics, Key Club or Student Council, the Blue Jay community continues to serve those in need. Here is a list of some of the activities took place:
- Key Club: Food Bank, Coat Drive, Coin Collection/Leukemia
- Girls Basketball: No Shave November
- Class of 2022: Local Family In Need
- Cheerleading: Kash for Kacey, Carwash for DMD/Danny Garofalo
- Football: Pink Out T-shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness
- Fashion Club: Halloween Costume Drive, Prom Wear Drive
- Weight Lifting Club: St. Judes
- Ceramics Class: Soup Bowl Food Kitchen, Poppies for Veteran’s Memorial
- Touring Choir: Middlesex/Dunellen Domestic Violence Vigil, Watchung School Veteran’s Day Observance, Senior Citizen’s Holiday Luncheon
- Global Issues: Support for a Middlesex Family
- Visual Arts Class: Portrait for Orphans, Hospital patients, & Senior Homes
- LLD/MD Classes: Coffee Shop donate to FISH, Autism Awareness
The goal is to have students thinking like global citizens; considering global issues based on a deep understanding of diverse values and worldviews; show genuine interest and ability to solve ambiguous and complex real world problems that impact human and environmental sustainability and show compassion, empathy and concern for others.
From the Middlesex High School family to your family, enjoy the holiday break with your family and friends.

- Parents, remind your child to bring their school lanyards to school every day!
- Students who are leaving early need to bring a note to the Main Office in the morning so that a pass can be provided to them and they can leave class to meet their parent in the office. If a student is walking, driving or being picked up by someone other than a parent, that information will need to be included in the note.

Shout Outs!
"The girls basketball team and I are proud to announce that we have raised over five hundred dollars ($500) and counting for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through our No Shave November fundraiser. My family has a connection to CHOPs when they treated my daughter successfully for a rare condition and I wanted to create a fundraiser to say thank you. As a result, I let inspiring makeup artists Noelle Ostrander and Angela Pacilli create our third annual glitter beard to celebrate. Thanks to the students and faculty who gave of their time, money and their razors to support this worthy cause."
