FHS Track & Field Team Update
Championships and post season information
Spring Sports Banquet/Awards
1) Families from all athletic teams donate food for the dinner that starts at 6:30pm in the cafeteria.
2) At 7:00pm everyone gathers in the high school auditorium for general recognition like high GPA athletes, student-athletes earning varsity letters, and State Champions (or competitors if the state meet has not been competed yet).
3) After the large group gathering, individual sport teams with have a breakout session with their coaches for special recognitions and passing out varsity letters.
Remaining Schedule
Region 6A North Championship meet will be two days on May 28-29 starting at 5:00pm each day at Robinson high school.
Virginia High School League (VHSL) State Championship meet will be two days on June 5-6 in Newport News, VA at Todd Stadium (http://www.hamptonroadssports.org/venues/index/view/id/37/john-b-todd-stadium-). This is the same location as last year for those who remember. We already have 2 athletes who have auto-qualified for the State Meet, so the 'team' and coaches will be making the trip. Let's support our student-athletes during the championship meets and see if we can't add a few more name to the list.
Stay tuned: There is a strong potential FHS could have a runner in the New Balance National Championship meet.
