UPCOMING TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS PRESENTATION
At the upcoming February 6th Finance Committee Meeting, Council Rock Transportation Manager, Mr. Matt Adams, will present information on FirstView, a bus tracking app by First Student. The FirstView app will be piloted with select groups of parents from each of our schools in upcoming weeks in preparation for a full district rollout in the spring. Once implemented, the free app will allow parents/guardians to see the location of their child's bus while in transit and to set time or mileage indicators for distance to home. Users will also be able to sign up for customizable push notification alerts. The Council Rock Transportation Department is pleased to preview the FirstView app on February 6th and will also present information on other strategies they are adopting to improve service in preparation for next year’s launch. This would include more proactive communication to the community and implementation of software designed to improve response time and manage customer cases (known as Customer Relationship Management or CRM software). The Council Rock school community is invited to attend the Feb 6th Finance Committee Meeting transportation improvements presentation in person. Those unable to attend can review the presentation slides via the CR YouTube Channel after the meeting.
CANVAS TO HAC PASSBACK MESSAGE FOR 7-12TH GRADE PARENTS
We continue our two-year implementation of Canvas in grades 7-12 in Council Rock. As a reminder, at the start of the 2021-2022 school year, all courses will be in Canvas, and students and parents will be able to use Canvas as their single location for course information.
During the second semester of this school year (2019-2020), we will activate the single direction grade passback between Canvas and HAC. This means that when teachers enter grades in Canvas for those courses for which your students are using Canvas, those grades will automatically transfer to HAC. What does this mean for you as a parent? You will still access interim grades and report cards through HAC. You do not need to access Canvas to check grades. However, you can also login to Canvas as a parent to review your child’s progress and performance on various assignments. As always, if you or your child have questions about an assignment, grade, or see a discrepancy between the two gradebooks (Canvas and HAC), we encourage you to contact the teacher.
