A Message from Principal Boucher
SLPHS Families,
The last day of school is fast approaching. With nicer weather and summer break a few weeks away, distractions are in full force. Please remind your student that it is important to stay focused through these last couple weeks of school. We are committed to maintaining a supportive, positive and productive learning environment all the way to the end and appreciate your support from home.
Here are some reminders/updates as we enter the home stretch:
- Monday – No school: There is no school next Monday, May 31 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
- Schedule changes – June 7-10: The last week of the school year, June 7 – June 10, we will operate on our typical 6-period day schedule beginning with SET each morning (8:10-8:40 a.m.) Monday-Thursday. There will NOT be afternoon release time on Wednesday, June 9. We want to provide the SET time each day during the last week to ensure each student has every chance to be academically successful and to demonstrate their learning.
- iPads – home for summer (unless you are a senior): Students can, once again this summer, keep their school-issued iPads at home. Take good care of them and bring them to school when you return in the fall. If you will not be enrolled next year, please let us know so we can collect iPads before the end of the year. Seniors will turn in their iPads on Thursday, June 10 during graduation rehearsal. If your family’s plans change over the summer, please be in touch with our District Service Center to return any school technology and other materials.
- 2021-2022 course requests: 9th and 10th grade course requests and summer school letters were mailed out last week and 11th grade course requests and summer school letters will be mailed to families this week. If you have any questions after reviewing these, please reach out to your student’s counselor.
- Senior family updates: We continue to send updates to families of the Class of 2021 in preparation for graduation on June 11. You can always find the latest information at SpringLakeParkSchools.org/graduation. We continue to add details here as we have them, and we are excited to celebrate the class and our graduates.
We are looking forward to finishing the year strong with our students. Thank you as always for your ongoing support and partnership. Together we make bright futures.

Mark your calendars for TCO's free sport physical event registration date
This summer, Twin Cities Orthopedics is once again offering FREE high school sports physicals at eight different locations. As a partner school, we’re able to give our parents and athletes advanced notice, so you’ll be ready to sign up when registration opens on June 21.
Remember, high school sports physicals are required, and athletes in 7th – 12th grade need one every three years. Learn more: TCOmn.com/SportsPhysicals.

Laser Cutter Project
Students in the How to Make Almost Anything class recently learned about how to use a Laser Cutter by making a personal logo. They were tasked to incorporate three images or references that are meaningful to them in a 4x4 inch design to then be processed on the laser cutter. Impressive work!

Complete senior survey to receive a final transcript
Counselors cannot send your student's final transcript to their college unless they have completed the senior survey! Regardless of the college of choice, we need to know where to send the final transcript! Seniors can complete the senior survey in Naviance now until the final day of school. Transcripts are typically sent to colleges the week of June 21.
