News for September 2017 - Back To School!

Welcome Back!

We are so excited to get back to school and back to PTA! Livonia PTSA Council is here to support all PTA/PTSA Units in Livonia. Please contact us with your questions and suggestions. You will find Liaison, Program and Event info in the Newsletter, which is issued on the First day of each month.

Do you have an event or a program that you'd like to share? You can email articles to newsletter@livoniaptsacouncil.org to be featured in a newsletter. Let us know what amazing things your Unit is doing!

Grant PTA Welcome Back BBQ

Last year, Grant Elementary PTA wanted to host a laid-back event for all students, families, and staff to give them an opportunity to catch-up with each other after summer break, and to introduce our new Principal. The event was exactly as we hoped it would be – we introduced our Principal, families mingled, children played, and everyone enjoyed themselves! Like any good neighborhood BBQ, we had more food than we could eat and a lot of laughter. The Welcome Back BBQ is a fun addition to the beginning of the year and something families requested we continue.

New this year we’re adding an activity for students that will kick-off a beautification project for the school! Attendees can paint a rock that will be displayed at the school in our rock garden – one of Grant’s 2017-2018 projects that demonstrates how each of us are unique, but together we’re a masterpiece.

MI PTA offers Units a new database tool

Beginning in fall 2017, Michigan PTA will begin using MemberHub as a membership reporting tool. Units have been set up with their own Hub, and will use that for membership reporting. Cards will be immediately (and solely) available via email using this new system.

To view recorded webinars, you can check the Michigan PTA website here:

http://www.michiganpta.org/?page=memberhubtraining

If you have issues with your hub, you can contact MemberHub support at:

support@memberhub.zendesk.com

Council is adding Hubs for officers, please contact your Liaison if you are an officer and have not been added to the Livonia PTSA Council MemberHub site.

Join us at our September 20 General Membership Meeting as we discuss MemberHub and have a presentation on the ways to use and incorporate it in your Unit.

Speaking of Liaisons...

Did you know that each PTA/PTSA Unit in Livonia is assigned a Liaison from Livonia PTSA Council? This is your new (or returning!) PTA best friend! Have a question? Not sure how to do something? Contact your liaison! We can't promise to have ALL of the answers, but we can find them! (If you invite your Liaison to your meetings, and copy PEP@livoniaptsacouncil.org , your Unit will get 100 PEP points - per invitation - not a blanket invite at the beginning of the year!!)
