Principal Message

Greetings, Ride Families!

I cannot believe how fast this year is going and how far we have come since we opened the doors in August to the 2022-2023 school year! I am so proud of the work we have done as a community to ensure that our students continue to grow in their academics and their social/emotional development.

This week we conquered the week of the field trips!! There were three field trips three days in a row and the kids nailed it!! The kids did not go to all three trips; however, each venue gave us glowing reports of how good, respectful and pleasant our kids were. Definitely a proud principal moment!

I am looking forward to a fun filled Spring Break and hope you enjoy yours as well. The kids definitely deserve it!! When we return, the Spring will be loaded with activities and the time will fly by even faster. In addition to the activities we have planned, we also have very important End of the Year and STAAR testing fast approaching. Therefore, we still have a good amount of instruction and learning left to do.

Online Registration for the 2023-24 school years opens on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, for all grade levels, except for PK, which opens on April 1, 2023.

Spring Break is March 13th thru March 20th. School resumes on March 21st for students.

Have a great Spring Break,

Sincerely,

Megan Burnham

Ride Through The Decades

The 2023 Ride through the Decades Spring Carnival planning committee is looking for silent auction items. If you own a business and would like to donate we would love to help promote your business. 100% of the funds raised through the silent auction go directly to the PTO, which then go directly into the school.

PTO funds various school functions including field trips, math and reading tutoring, teacher support, professional development, substitute pay, computer programs/licenses, technology, reading incentive programs, playground equipment and repairs, copy paper, school beautification and so much more. All funds the PTO raises goes towards enhancing each child's education at Sally K. Ride.

Lunch Sign-Up

Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are offering two options for lunch signups. You will have the opportunity to sign up to eat in the cafeteria with your child or outside in our gazebo/picnic table area. You will not be able to change locations after signup is complete. If you sign up to eat outside and it rains, you will be unable to move into the building due to limited seating. You may sign up for another day/time.

Each slot is available for two adults and the child you are eating lunch with..

Please see the schedule below for designated grade level lunch visitor’s days. Make sure that you sign up under the correct time slot for your child’s lunchtime. Each student may have a lunch visitor once every 3.5-week period. This ensures every parent has an opportunity to sign up. Remember to bring a valid id when you visit the building.

Due to limited seating in the cafeteria, we are asking all parents with small children to eat outside in the gazebo area.
