Student Achievement
Flat Mrs. Swigert and flat Mrs. Alverson arrived at our students homes last week. Students are asked to take flat Mrs. Swigert and flat Mrs. Alverson on two adventures a week and write in their home journals, google classroom journals or make a flip grid describing their adventures. So far flat Mrs. Swigert and flat Mrs. Alverson have been very busy. They have enjoyed playing games such as hopscotch, pac man, uno, and monopoly. Flat Mrs. Swigert and flat Mrs. Alverson also enjoyed trips the spa, to a garden center to buy flowers and enjoyed a Cinco de Mayo dinner. Students in Miss Culmone/Mrs. Quigley's class were asked to brainstorm their opinion and reasons why, of what would make the best pet. (Thinking wilder!) They used Googles’s 3D app to pose in a picture with their animal!
Ms. Barnes' Kindergarten classes have been learning how to identify main idea and details. For Show and Tell each student gathered four items (the details) that related to their main idea. Then the class had to guess their main idea. Some of the main ideas were baking, dance class, making ice cream sundaes, jewelry, going to bed, red things, fruit, making pancakes, and Rescue Bots.
Students in Mrs. Basdekis’ class shared their journal thoughts for Make Believe Monday.
