A Fall Season of Growth and Success
Batesville Bobcat Newsletter 10/29/2017
As the Weather Shifts to Texas Fall; Learning Shifts to High Gear
As the weather shifts from summer to fall in our South Texas cove, the level of rigor and focus in our classrooms is moving into high gear. Students are facing new learning challenges each day. From RTI interventions for students needing to make foundational gains in reading to after school tutoring (and everything in between), our team of teachers is pushing to make the impossible possible every day. Every day we believe that our students are capable of being the best students in the district, the region, and the state. Students should insure they get their complete rest each evening, because each day we are going to give our best and expect your best.
1/3 of Student A/B Honor Roll- Nearly 40% Perfect Attendance
The results are in for the 1st 9 weeks of learning and they show a solid number of students excelling in many ways. Over the course of the next week students will take their Star Renaissance Tests to check individual progress from the Beginning of the Year. These tests will help to guide our RTI tiers and our interventions moving forward.
PBIS Focus on Being Safe (until 11/10)
Our PBIS processes have made great strides from 2016/17 to this year. We are being more consistent and uniform throughout our campus in holding the highest standard possible in meeting the 4 Bs daily. The area where the least amount of Bobcat bucks have been awarded has been Being Safe, so for the next two weeks our Entire Bobcat professional team will focus on the 3rd B.
Being Safe at Batesville Elementary means:
Walking to all common areas on campus. Reporting issues to an adult. Walking students to the nurse. Following Playground rules. Reminding my classmates to follow the 4 B’s. Holding Chrome Books correctly. *Using restroom quickly and correctly.
Footsteps2Brilliance and Literacy Framework
Our strongest academic focus is on the continued development of student literacy. We believe in the power of Reading and we will push relentlessly to have our students reading every day. Monday October 30th we will hold our Footsteps 2 Brilliance community event in our cafeteria to sign up and highlight the Footsteps 2 Brilliance app and its connection to community wide literacy support and development. I look forward to seeing a big turnout.
Principal keeps target at 100%
We are 1/3 of the way to 100% of our students excelling at optimal levels. That means with renewed spirit, energy, and focus from our Fall Break, Batesville Elementary will push to set the bar higher for learning in our classrooms. We have 100% of our teaching team now active on Class Dojo. We have 100% of our team planning at optimal levels. Now we look forward to 100% of our students engaged and excited to join their classmates as Honor Roll students, as No Excuses scholars, and as proud UCISD PBIS Stars.
