Periods
- use a period at the end of a declarative sentence such as : I am wearing a jacket today.
- use a period at the end of almost every imperative sentence
- use a period at the end of an indirect question
question marks
- use a question mark at the end of an interrogative sentence such as: were is my shoe ?
Other uses for periods
- use a period at the end of most abreviations or after an initial.

- initial examples R.R : railroad D.C district of colombia
exclamation points
- use s an exclamation mark to ends an exclamatory sentence.
- use an exclamation point after an interjection or any exclamatory expression
