Spa Day for the Planet
Cornell Minds Matter, Cornell Students for Animal Rights, and various other cultural clubs are coming together to create “Spa Day for the Planet”. This event will focus on mental health, sustainable eating, and cultural awareness. We will have a ton of great activities like massages, manicures, henna, succulent plants and more. On top of that there will be plant based, cultural food! The event will be held in Willard Straight Hall on Friday, April 27th from 8pm to 10pm.
This is where you come in! We are reaching out to clubs to collaborate with and share their cultures with a plant-based dish. As you’ve likely heard, vegan food is the best for the environment when compared to meat, eggs, and dairy. We are asking for your club to make a plant based dish that represents your culture. You can make a dish that is already plant-based, or make a plant based version of a dish. Gluten free, soy free, nut free and/or kosher dishes are a plus as they make will make our event more accessible. We would also be grateful for any help advertising such as putting up a few posters or sharing the Facebook page.
Please feel free to bring promotional materials or other things you want to display about your culture. We will be also be doing a gallery with information about various food and cultures and would love expertise from other cultural orgs on what to display. We will also reimburse you for the cost of the ingredients. Thank you so much for reading this and if you and your club are interested, please email klb279@cornell.edu. Please feel free to forward this email to other cultural orgs.
