Flatworms, the worms that transmit this diesease have a special mating method as featured on National Geographic known as Penis Fencing, Flatworms possess both male and female reproductive organs so it's basically a fight for sexuality, loser becomes female
Symptoms
A rash, itchy skin, fever, chills, cough, headache, belly pain, joint pain, and muscle aches are symptoms.
Mortality and geographic impacts
The mortality rate of schistosomiasis is about 25% with 85% of these cases coming from Africa where water is not properly cleaned

The vector is the Flatworm.
Their are treatments for schistosomiasis as well as a prevention available. There are Anti-parasite medications that can be taken as well as prevention tactics such as boiling your water to eradicate potential parasites in the water.
