Easter Traditions at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church

Holy Week is an important time for Christians throughout the world. Holy Week, the final week of Lent, begins on Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter. Holy Week is a time when Catholics gather to remember and participate in the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Passion was the final period of Christ’s life in Jerusalem. It spans from when He arrived in Jerusalem to when He was crucified.

St. Mary's wants to extend a huge thank you to Father Damian Dutka and our very own EICS Trustee Teresa Makowecki from Holy Trinity for spending time with our students over Holy Week explaining the Ukrainian Easter Traditions of Paska and Pysanka making.

RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program for Enrichment)

The Rotary Club of Vegreville has spots available for RYPEN (Rotary Youth Program for Enrichment). RYPEN is a program geared toward personal growth and development, with the goal to help kids be great role models. RYPEN will be hosted in person this year at Birch Bay Ranch from May 5th - 8th. This is a great opportunity for students to connect, have fun and learn about themselves.

In the past, this program has benefitted those students who are working towards increased confidence, while acquiring the skills to embrace the challenges that life throws their way.

Unfortunately we are working with a short timeframe this year as the registration deadline is April 19, 2022.

What is RYPEN?

RYPEN is a 4-day camp for full-time students between the ages of 14 and 18. The objective of the camp is to encourage personal growth and to bring about a happy and productive youth who is a positive role model in their community and to their peers. It is hosted by the RYPEN Committee in partnership with local Rotary Clubs across Rotary International District 5370.

This year, it will be held from May 5th to May 8th, 2022 at Birch Bay Ranch in Sherwood Park, AB.

What Can You Expect from RYPEN?

Participants are involved in a variety of workshops and activities that provide an opportunity for personal development, gaining self confidence, communication skills, attaining an understanding of how to set and achieve goals, challenging their personal boundaries, taking control of their own future, building friendships, and developing life skills.

Safety In Trying Times

Due to the on going Corona Virus pandemic, all participants of RYPEN 2022 will be required to bring Proof of Vaccination. we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, and we still hope to see you all at RYPEN 2022.

If your child would be interested in this please contact the school ASAP and we can get them registered.
