ECLC Class News
Week of 10/10-10/15
What we did this week ...
Our centers and books were about fall and leaves this week. I read the stories, Fall Leaves and There was an Old Lady who Swallowed some Leaves. On Tuesday, I read There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Bat. We completed a sequencing activity following the reading, and made a bat craft.
In math, we worked on counting and sequencing. I introduced the number 4 to the students.
In Social Skills Group, we continued to talk about working as a group. Miss Roe read them a story, and hid apples around the room. The students worked as a group, to find all of the apples in the room.
The students really enjoyed OT group this week. Miss Karen split the group into two. Five students made a spider craft, and the other group bowled using a pumpkin, and then they switched activities. She made ghost faces on toilet paper, and each child knocked over the tower using a pumpkin. They all loved that.

Other things we did this week
In phonics, I introduced the letters o and c, to the students. The letter stories are o octopus /0/ and c cat /c/. The students used baby Echo, to identify the letters, key words, and sounds. The students used their fingers to sky write, and say the letter formations for the letters o and c.
The students used their handwriting journals, to trace their finger over the letters o and c. They colored the key word after they traced the letter. Here is information about handwriting in Fundations.
Have a wonderful weekend.
