Principal's Message
Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer break enjoying time with family and friends. Providing students with an engaging and challenging curriculum is always at the forefront of our goals. Your Murwood staff has been working hard to prepare for an outstanding school year. Our teachers have been collaborating with their colleagues, attending trainings and preparing for their new students.
Murwood staff has begun exploring the benefits of Responsive Classroom techniques. These techniques are used to prepare students for the academic demand of 21st century learning, while nurturing and supporting their social-emotional growth. Our support staff has been busy as well. Our custodial team has been working very hard to ensure our site is cleaned, repaired and ready for students to walk through our doors. The office staff has worked over the summer to ensure that they can welcome and support students and families as you prepare for the new year.
This school year we hope to provide students with an academically challenging environment while empowering them to be creative, collaborative and building strong character traits. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education and to be surrounded by some of the best educators in the business.
I look forward to getting to know our students and families and working together to make this a successful school year.

Welcome Back Day
Wednesday, August 7th
3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
We will again be using the Aeries Parent Portal to confirm student information and the Membership Toolkit to collect school-specific information, such as contact information for the directory, volunteers and optional purchases. You will receive an email from the District with the link to the Online Registration and instructions to complete.
Each year we also require parents to verify their residence address:
- If your student is continuing in the WCSD and you have not moved, you will need to provide 2 current bills from Group 2 listed in this form.
- If you have moved, you will need to provide proof of residency by providing the required documents from Group 1 and Group 2, as listed in this document.
- If you are new to the district and registered over the summer or during TK/K registration, you will not need to re-verify your residency. FAQ's Page
Please be sure to attend the session or send someone on your behalf. You will complete the registration process and receive your student(s) classroom assignment.
Please note: The online registration process must be completed prior to attending Welcome Back Day. Computers, printers and volunteers will be available on site to assist you in the event you were unable to complete the online registration process in advance.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2019-20 school year!

From PTA
The Murwood PTA has put together a Parent Survey asking for your input on what we are doing well, as well as how we can better serve our school community. We are also interested in learning about guest speakers you would be interested in hearing from during the school year. Your PTA is here to serve you, but we need your input so we can serve you well! Please take a moment to complete the survey as soon as possible and prior to the beginning of the school year on August 14, 2019. Thank you for your time and participation.
