From the Principal
This week, September 14-18, is bully prevention week at Raymond Park and MSD Warren Township. We recognize that bullying must be more than just a one-week focus. During the next 5 days, students will learn how to recognize the behavior and its harmful effects in addition to appropriate reporting procedures. An overview of the program is provided in either of the grade-specific Bullying Prevention Week Letters below. Students and parents can always report bullying directly to the school or call the bullying hotline at 317-532-3049. Thank you for helping us keep our school safe and a respectful place where everyone can learn.
MSD Warren Township is providing an opportunity for families to request a change in school model for the second term.
Families that are interested in moving their student in grades 5-8:
FROM fully virtual instruction TO either traditional in-person instruction (Grade 5 ONLY)/alternating day in-person and virtual instruction (Grades 6-8)
FROM traditional in-person instruction(Grade 5 ONLY)/alternating day in-person and virtual instruction (Grades 6-8) TO fully virtual instruction (Grades 5-8) should complete a Second Quarter Learning Option Change Request Form.
Change Process Notes:
- All requests must be made formally through the Change Request Form (linked above) and during the window that opened on Friday, September 11 and closes on Monday, September 21 at 3 p.m.
- Families who wish to request a change should submit one form per child. *If families have a student in another building, they will receive a Learning Option Change Request form and information directly from each student’s school.
- This form should only be completed by those who want to change their learning option. *If you do not want to change your current learning option, please do not fill out the form.
- A valid parent or caregiver email address is required to submit a Learning Option Change Request form. This email address will be used to send a request confirmation and other important information. Please check and double check that the correct email is entered and be sure to check your inbox daily. (***This should not be a student email or an @warren.k12.in.us).
- At the beginning of the school year, students in grades K-8 were asked to make a 9-week commitment to their chosen learning option. Grades 9-12 were asked to make an 18-week commitment and therefore will receive learning option change request information at a later time.
On Wednesday September 23rd from 11:45 AM -1:30 PM, all Raymond Park 8th graders will be participating in JA (Junior Achievement) JobSpark. In the past this has been a live interactive experience at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This year, it will be a 100% virtual experience for our students.
JA JobSpark is meant to "spark" an interest in students and get them excited for their future. Students will learn about skills and training needed for jobs that will be in demand when they graduate. Students will learn about the types of courses they should take in high school and post secondary schooling.
Both in-person and virtual students will be participating in this event. Leading up to JA JobSpark, 8th grade socail studies teachers Mr. Coblentz, and Ms. Birt will be teaching curriculum related to JA JobSpark. The topics include: career planning, goal setting, and employability skills. Students will also take a career self-assessment. All 8th grade students will be receiving a JA JobSpark SWAG bag - virtual student pick-up will be this Thursday, September 17, 4:15-6:00pm at RP’s main entrance.
Ranger students and staff continue to do a great job with covering faces, washing and disinfecting hands and practicing social distancing. These practices will continue to be critical for us to continue to enjoy a safe school year!

Fall Book Fair
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our Fall Book Fair will be virtual. The dates for the fair are September 21-October 2. It is exciting because with a virtual fair Scholastic is able to offer more items than with a physical fair. It does take parent involvement as it will require a debit/credit card, but items that are ordered will be delivered directly to homes. We will be sending out emails to students detailing the specifics of how students will go about viewing and ordering items from the fair.
School pictures for all in-person learners, grades 5-8 have been taken. There is a make-up date scheduled for in-person learners on Thursday, October 29. Virtual learners will have an opportunity for school pictures later this fall through the Moorhead Community and Resource Center. Picture orders should be made through the Inter-State Studio Picture Order Form.
Related, there are a limited quantity of 2019-2020 yearbooks on sale for $20. Please email yearbook sponsor Jill Simala (email@example.com) to purchase an remaining 19-20 yearbook.
RP Athletic Safety Guidelines
Spectators for all sports will be limited to immediate family members. 250 total spectators will be allowed admission into RPIMS events. Immediate family does include grandparents and step-parents.
Home Football and Volleyball: Tickets will go on sale on site 45 minutes before the start time of the event and will be available on a first come first serve basis. Tickets will be $5 general admission, $3 for children ages 5 and up, and $13 for a family pass which includes two adults and three children.
Employees planning to attend games will be granted entrance for just the badge holder.
Away game/match ticketing and safety information will be determined by the opposing school. Ticketing and safety information for away games/matches will be provided to coaches for distribution as soon as it is available to ADs. Plan on masks being required.
Game Day at RPIMS
Face coverings are REQUIRED for all indoor events and recommended for outdoor events when social distancing does not occur.
Family units may sit together but must be using 6 feet of social distancing between another family unit.
Avoid congregating near concessions or bathrooms when applicable.
Fans are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes prior to start time.
Concessions will be provided utilizing guidelines from ISDH and MCPHD. Concessions will be prepackaged, and concessionaires will be required to wear face coverings and gloves at all times.
**Please note, all guidelines listed above follow the direction provided by the MCPHD, IHSAA, and NFHS**
