Dear Stallion Families,

This week we will begin MAP testing for all students. We use the data from this assessment to determine next steps with classroom instruction and student support.

Whether your child is a traditional student taking the assessment at school or a remote learner taking the assessment at home, we know they will work hard and do their best to show us what they know. It will be important that the students are able to work independently in a quiet spot free from distractions so that we get the best picture of where they are and how to help them.

Preparing for MAP Test as a Remote Learner

We will begin MAP testing this week for our traditional and remote students. Your child's teacher will send grade level specific information that pertains to your child. This is meant to be an overview.

If your child is a remote learner, please read over the following suggestions to ensure a smooth testing experience for your child at home.

Prior to Test Day:

  1. Make sure your device has an internet connection

  2. Disable pop-up blocking on your internet browser

  3. Make sure your device meets testing requirements using the Device Readiness Check

  4. Make sure your child has headphones

  5. Watch the MAP Growth introduction video

  6. Practice the test at (Username: grow, Password: grow)

On Test Day:

  1. Minimize distractions for your child as much as possible

  2. Provide a quiet testing environment

  3. Allow the teacher/proctor to open the session first

  4. Log in at

  5. Make sure you have a way to communicate with the teacher/proctor during the test

  6. Follow any additional instructions from the teacher/proctor

  7. Allow your child to work independently to show the teacher what they know.

Curriculum Night - Mark your calendars!

Please mark your calendars for Curriculum Night! Each grade-level will provide two session times that you may choose to attend based on your schedule. The same information will be provided at each session. These sessions will be held virtually on the dates listed below. Your child's teacher will provide you with a link to log-on for your specific grade-level night:

  • Monday, Sept. 28: Kinder and 4th grade (5:30-6:15 and 6:30-7:15 virtual)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 29: Pre-K, 1st and 5th grade (5:30-6:15 and 6:30-7:15 virtual)
  • Wednesday, Sept. 30: 2nd, 3rd, and Communications (5:30-6:15 and 6:30-7:15 virtual)


Need Another Car Tag?

Are you and your family needing another car tag for dismissal?

Please click here to complete the Google form and order additional car tags. Please note that we will only print additional car tags once a week on Wednesdays, so your patience is appreciated. We will get you the additional car tag on Wednesdays when it is created.


Checking your child out of school before 2:30 pm?

We know there may be times that you need to check your child out of the building before 2:30 pm. Please be reminded of the following guidelines when picking your child up early:

  • If possible, please call or email the office ahead of time so we can have your child ready.
  • When you arrive, please notify the front office by ringing the bell
  • Scan the QR code on the front door and complete the Google form. This is how you will virtually "sign" your child out of school.
  • Please have your photo ID ready to show a Stark staff member.
  • A front office staff member will bring your child out to you.

Continue to Enroll in Meal Benefits

Even though all students eat free, please continue to enroll in meal benefits. This enrollment provides additional benefits for your family in reduced prices for other items.

Once we are unable to provide free meals for all children, students will be asked to pay for meals. If you need assistance, please complete the application as soon as possible.

Please write your child's name on their water bottles, lunch boxes, backpacks, sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. - anything they bring to school! We are not able to keep lost items together in a Lost and Found at this time.

BUT - If your child's name is on an item, it will be returned to them if it gets left somewhere in the building.


Boy Scout Information

We invite everyone to our first pack meeting on 9-25-20 at 6 PM in the Manske Amphitheater. Our goal is to keep the kids safe and active doing outdoor activities while advancing in their ranks. We know everyone has lots of questions on what scouting will look like, so we wrote up what our plans are in here: . Our aim is and will always be safety first for the kids.
