Celebrating 28 Years of Excellence in Catholic Education
Theme for the Year
At St. Joseph Catholic School, each and every day we are training students to be missionary disciples, and learning to recognize God in our lives and in the world around us. Through FAITH, we truly believe in all God has revealed to us.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a nurturing and prayerful learning environment committed to academic excellence, training missionary disciples to seek virtue, wisdom, and truth, in partnership with a community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
Motto:
Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
From the Principal
Happy Easter, Knight Families! He is risen! Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
As we enter the final week of the 2022-2023 academic year, I look back at all we have accomplished together, but mostly, I look at the beauty of our students. They have all grown so much! It is through their growth, that out hope for the future in renewed, year after year. May God keep a watchful eye on all of our Knights and their families over the summer months. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming year and look forward to meeting our new families!
From all of the Faculty and Staff of St. Joseph Catholic School, thank you! Thank you for partnering with us to prepare the next leaders of our community. Together, we build the community, our Church and the Kingdom of God.

"Clapping Out" the Class of 2023!
It is tradition to "clap out" the 8th grade class at the end of each academic year. Our Class of 2023 was all smiles as they made their final walk from the school building to the Gift of Light Ceremony, under the cheers of the entire student body, faculty, and families. God go with you, Knights!
8th Grade Student of the Month Award Recipeint
Our 8th Grade Student of the Month is Katherine Gutierrez. Katherine works hard and willingly participates in class. Katherine also stays quite busy outside of school playing tennis and softball, sailing with NCHS and the Fort Worth Boat Club, and volunteering. We are proud of you, Katherine, and we know you have a bright future.
Monday Morning Prayer Service
Thank you to Mrs. Waldrep and her little missionary disciples for leading the school community in prayer last week! Well done!
Ms. Escutia's Kindergarten class led us in prayer this week and did a wonderful job! Thank you for your leadership, Knights!
Frassati Medal Recipients
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Francisco Contreras exemplified this Beatitude in computer class. Another student's headphones were missing the soft cushion on one side of the earpiece. When the student brought this to the teacher's attention, Francisco immediately took off his headphones and offered them to the other student. Thank you for leading by example, Francisco!
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Gus Hornick exemplifies this beatitude as an Altar Server. Gus joyfully agrees to serve every time he is asked, even when it's not his regularly scheduled week. He even checks to see if he is needed before every Mass. While serving, Gus is a great role model - helping newer servers learn and understand their roles. We are so honored to have had your service, Gus. God bless you!
Altar Server Ministry
Thank you, Knights, for serving the Lord and your community in this very special role. We are grateful to you all for your servant hearts!
Band Concert
Our Band Knights presented a spectacular band concert this month. Under the watchful eye and talents of Mr. Cullen, our Band Knights are flourishing! This is one talented bunch of students!
Mother's Day Tea in Preschool
Our preschool students celebrated their mothers with a special Mother's Day Tea! The teachers even received a little love from Shorty, our beloved maintenance man from the parish. He hand delivered flowers to all the female faculty and staff members. Thank you, Shorty! God bless our mothers.
4th and 5th Grade Field Trip
The 4th and 5th grade Knights had a wonderful time on their field trip to the Chisolm Trail Outdoor Museum this past week. They had great weather for the trip!
Field Day 2023
We did not let the weather stop our fun this Field Day, as we continued the event indoors. Our Knights had a blast no matter where they enjoyed their games!
8th Grade Water Balloon Fight
The tradition continues with the battle of the 8th grade Field Day Water Balloon Fight! They may even have another battle on their trip to Glen Rose. Ready, Knights?
Moments Captured
Student Council speeches were given with great zeal before the voting commenced. Thank you for being willing to lead.
Mr. Cullen was caught catching a soccer game with students at lunch recess one day this past week. How fun!
Spiritual Adoption Program Baby Shower
Our Upper School students (7th and 8th) participated in a baby shower with Sr. Mai in honor of the Spiritual Adoption Program they have been praying for all year. These items will go to mothers in most need. Thank you for the gifts and prayers, Knights.
This Week in Art
The last day of Art class for the school year was challenging and fun for all!
2nd Grade: Manga Chibi Characters- students drew original Japanese manga characters called chibis, which are short and cute characters.
1st Grade: Mixed Media Fish - black ink, crayon and watercolor paints were used to create colorful fishes on watercolor paper
5th Grade: Repetition in Art - students were inspired by Pop artists (e.g. Warhol, Escher) to create drawings where images, shapes or colors are repeated or form patterns in design.
Displays on Campus
Our Upper School Knights have been hard at work learning, exploring, and creating this month. These displays are creative and academically engaging! Well done!
STREAM classes built index card towers in the library. Students worked in teams to test the design, make adjustments, and try, try again! Great engineering, Knights!
Greenhouse Life
Our 5th graders were able to gather peppers in the greenhouse this week. Each student shared the student-grown produce by choosing one pepper to take home. Thank you for your help with our greenhouse chores, 5th grade!
