Weekly Newsletter

From the Director
Dear CDS Community,
We've had an active week at CDS Middle School as students wrapped up their Fall Co-curricular and After School Program (ASP) seasons. On Tuesday, we gathered in the Small Theater to hear teachers share the exciting new co-curricular clubs they'll be offerings for the winter season.
Registration for ASPs ended this morning, and all parents should have received an email from me today indicating which after school clubs your child has enrolled in. Invoices for paid ASPs will be sent out next week. Please contact the MS Office if you have any questions.
Students will have the opportunity to sign up for Winter Co-curricular Clubs on Saturday morning (11/17) at exactly 10:00am. Please visit the CDS Middle School website for the sign up form. Space is limited in certain clubs, so please be up and ready!
Next week is a short week due to Thanksgiving break. On Thursday 11/22, students will attend class in the morning, have lunch and then enjoy some Thanksgiving themed House activities before being dismissed. Buses will depart CDS at 1:15pm.
Have a great weekend!

The theme of this year's conference is "Compassion, Creativity, Change", so many of the sessions will focus on incorporating those elements into our school. There is a wide variety of speakers presenting on many topics, which will provide a wealth of information and resources for our CDS teachers.
Ms. Van Liew will be presenting a session on "PBL and Creativity in the Music Classroom", where she will explain and guide other teachers in how Project-based Learning works in a music classroom. Take a look by clicking on her slide presentation below!
