These four students helped Mr. Belinsky in his Adaptive Physical Education Class. The 4 students helped facilitate a dynamite game of pillow polo. Everyone had a blast and it was wonderful to see inclusion at it's best!

Calling All Gamers: Mario and Luigi Are Ready To Rumble!

Did you know that some universities have intercollegiate gaming teams? These ESport teams have varsity status and award scholarships to the most talented recruits. Robert Morris University in Chicago started the movement at the national level and Stockton University is now leading the region in ESports (link to article here):

If you want to get a glimpse into competitive gaming, stop by Interact Club’s Super Smash Brother’s Tournament tonight, March 8 in the cafeteria. The competition has play-by-play announcing and color commentating ESPN style in a highly engaging environment.

Junior State of America's Model Congress

Last week students from our AP Government class and the Mock Trial team participated in the Junior State of America's Model Congress. The trip included a meeting with Lillian Cunningham, an editor from the Washington Post, tours of Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court and visits to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. During the Model Congress students debated bills proposed by other schools and seniors Guy Pastrana, Olivia Elwell, Kasandra Macaya, and Antonio Perez introduced their bill which increase aid help people combat opioid addiction. Freshman Madeline Colye, Junior Nicholas Seppy and Senior Guy Pastrana were voted best speakers from the Congress.

ELL Students Visit Atlantic County Library in EHT

ELL students in Mrs. McGowan's ELL English classes took a field trip to the EHT branch of the Atlantic County Library. Students met librarian, Ms. Rahn, and learned about free services that are available to them and to their families. Ms. Rahn told the students about a number of special programs that will be coming to the library this Spring/Summer, about an opportunity for a paid internship, and about opportunities for them to volunteer at the library.
