PikMyKid App
If for some reason you are unable to download the app or use the app for dismissal purposes, please advise Michelle Clarke in the School Office at: michelle.clarke@st-gabrielschool.org. This will help us by making a note of this on your student(s) file. Thank you!
****************************
St. Gabriel School is now using a program to help organize the school dismissal process and improve safety. This program is a phone application downloaded onto your smart phone (found in the app store) and will allow you to notify the school of end of the day pick-up changes and authorize others to pick-up your child from school, alert you when your child has been picked up, as well as help organize the classroom car lines during pick-up.
In order for this system to be successful, it is critical that we have everyone's participation. If you have difficulty with the app, please contact support@pikmykid.com. You may also contact me at: Michelle.Clarke@st-gabrielschool.org.
Several resources are included below to help you understand how to use the application and assist you with this transition. Please make sure you register with the mobile phone number our school has on file for you and that it is a current number or the app will not allow you to access your child's information for security reasons.
If you do not think the school has your mobile number on file or if your child does not appear in your app's home page, contact support@pikmykid.com with your child's name, school, grade, and updated contact information for you.

Chess Club
"Progress With Chess" Start Up
CHESS CLUB STARTS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH! It will meet on Wednesdays for 10 weekly sessions after school, starting September 14, from 2:35-3:45pm. Instruction will be provided byProgress With Chess, a local non-profit organization with chess programs in over 50 Northeast Ohio school, including St. Raphael, Communion of Saints, Notre Dame Elementary, St. Dominic, Metro Catholic, St. Ambrose, and Incarnate Word Academy.
All St. Gabriel students, grades K-8, are invited to learn the ancient game of chess. Students will be divided into smaller groups by age and playing level. Many studies have shown that playing chess improves higher level thinking skills, such as concentration, pattern recognition, logic and problem solving.
Chess club teaches fundamental knowledge and skills, and then the strategies to use this knowledge and skill. Students start at their own level, and have time to practice, and grow and improve. Students will be given individual attention in smaller groups with more than one instructor, allowing better and quicker progress.
- Complete and return this form and payment to Office by Monday, September 12.
- For information, contact Michel Joelson at mdjoelson@progresswithchess.org.
